A few more enhancements to your HarmonySite, mostly cosmetic...
1. More icons in the user menu
Following on from our recent announcement email about the new "user menu" in the top-right corner of the site, we have now added some further functionality to this area.
Many of you will be aware of the little drop-down list in the bottom-right corner of the site, which looks like this:
For those that have never seen this before, this clever little drop-down list, visible only to webmasters, allows you to change how you're viewing the current page (and all pages in the site). You can select an access level that's different from what you're logged in as ("Webmaster Access", of course), and the page will then be shown as if you had that level of access. All future pages you visit will show with the new access level you've selected. To get back to "Webmaster Access", simply select "Webmaster Access" from the drop-down list.
Anyway, this little drop-down list is soon to be removed. In its place is a new "key" icon in the top-right corner of the site, again visible only to webmasters. Hover your mouse over this little key icon, and you'll see a very similar drop-down menu, as shown below:
Please start using this little key icon instead of the bottom-right-corner drop-down list, which will be removed in about 3 weeks.
Please also forward this email to all those with webmaster access in your group.
Further, the "Printable version" link from the first screenshot is also being removed soon, to be replaced with a new "print" icon in the top-right corner of the site, next to the new "key" icon (visible to anyone that's logged in). The "Printable version" link from the bottom of the page is also being removed soon. Please notify your members that they can now find this functionality in the top-right corner.
2. Edit Navigation link icons on main Members page
Each button on the main Members page now has a little icon added to its lower-right-hand corner, shown circled in red in the screenshot below:
These new icons are only visible to administrators of the "Navigation Links" system (and webmasters). Clicking on the new little icon in the lower-right corner of a members area button will take you to the page where the button (a "navigation link") can be updated/customised. You were always able to do this before, via the "Navigation Links Administration" page, but these new icons simply make updating members buttons more convenient and user-friendly.
3. Helpful icons everywhere
A picture is worth a thousand words, they say. So we've been sprinkling icons liberally throughout the software. You'll see the results in several places...
For example, on the main Members page:

Also, all existing icons have been made more visually uniform/consistent. For example, these icons...
...have been changed to these...
As a bonus, these new icons will actually make your site load fractionally faster.
If you see anything that doesn't look quite right, please let us know.
